SPRING CONFERENCE 2017
Experience the thrill of the adventure! Join the Minnesota Kindergarten Association on the journey to engage robust STEM learners. Bring your colleagues to accompany you for this stimulating adventure. The quest is over two days, May 5 and 6, 2017 at beautiful Cragun’s Resort in Brainerd. www.craguns.com. Register for your woodsy, cozy lodging by March 17, 2017 to take advantage of the MKA room rate. One day only trekkers are also welcome. Leading us on this adventure are numerous talented and learned guides.
The journey begins Friday morning, with Katy Smith (former teacher of the year and trainer) who will check our gear and warm us up. Doug Paulson (popular STEM presenter from the MDE) takes us on the first leg of the journey through various STEM activities. Greg Smedley-Warren, of the Kindergarten Smorgasboard fame, helps us maneuver math strategies and technology. Don’t step off the trail because Sara Edgar (Polka Dot Kinders blogger) and Doug Paulson provide breakout paths before dinner. Conclude the first day’s journey with other treks lead by featured guides: Braindance, Sara Edgar, Greg Smedley-Warren, Doug Paulson and more!
The journey continues on Saturday with Dr. Lori Elliot (popular SDE presenter) as head guide. She will train us in Project – Based Learning. Also, Minnesota author, Laura Salas (www.laurasalas.com), displays, vendors, plus dedicated peers round out the adventure.
From the time we greet you at Cragun’s door – to when you leave with a knapsack of ideas MKA will assist you along the way. Through careful instruction and positive encouragement from our experienced leaders and instructors, you will be motivated to face challenges that require both teamwork and individual effort. Welcome Kindergarten Explorers!
